1. Inertia of rest
eg. A book is on the table will be rest until any external force is applied on it

2. Inertia of motion
eg. A person in the car falls forward suddenly when the car stops

3. Inertia of direction
eg. A person in the bus move towards the direction of the bus when he takes left or right
