It is at the level of 12th thoracic vertebra, the thoracic aorta and thoracic ducts pass through it.
◼️2.) Esophageal Opening [ Esophageal hiatus ] :---

It is at the level of the 10th thoracic vertebra, the oesophagus & vagus nerve pass through it.
◼️3.) Caval Opening [ Vena Caval foramen ] :---

The diaphragm has three openings: Aortic Hiatus - the most dorsal opening, contains the aorta, azygous vein and thoracic duct.
Oesophageal Hiatus - contains the oesophagus, dorsal and ventral vagal trunks.
Caval Foramen - lies within the central tendinous region of the diaphragm and contains the caudal vena cava.
