There are two major branches in fluid mechanics, namely, fluid statics which is the study of fluid in a stationary state and fluid dynamics which is the study of fluid when its flowing, like what happens when water flows? So lets dive into fluid mechanics.

Answer:

The analysis of the fluids at rest is called fluid statics and the analysis of the fluids in motion is called fluid dynamics. The fluid dynamics, if the study of the motion of fluids such as the velocity and accelerations is carried out then it is called fluid kinematics.
