Two factors for crop variety improvement:

Crop variety improvement is nowadays a very famous genetic engineering that is being done to improve the crops in several ways as explained below:

• To increase the yield: Many crops are as itself low in yield. So, to increase the yield, it is either made a hybrid with another breed or simply genes from other crops are injected into the previous one to increase the yield per annum.
• To increase resistance: The crops are often prone to get infected by various pests and insects. The use of pesticides is also not a good alternative. So, to decrease the infection, genetic modifications are done to reduce the plant’s effects from both biotic and abiotic stress.
