Name and explain the different types of trophic movement by plant with suitable example

Different types of tropic movement in plants are written below...

1.) Geotropism...
Plant movement due to force of gravity is known as Geotropism. Roots of plant show positive Geotropism, i.e., they move downward in response to gravitational force.

2.) Hydrotropism...
This type of movement of plant is due to stimulus of water. Roots are always positive Hydrotropic as they move downwards water.

3.) Phototropism...
Plant movement in response to the stimulus of light, e.g., bending of plant stem towards light.

4.) Chemotropism...
Movement of plant parts in response to stimulus of some chemicals. Such movement is observed during pollen tube growth.

5.) Thigmotropism...
Such Plant movement are in response to stimulus of torch and contact. For example, coiling of tendrils of some plants around the object, they come in contact.
