Consumer protection Act:

1) The Consumer Protection Act applies on the service delivery by the State  government which includes the services of water, electricity, waste removal etc.

Purpose:

1) This act promotes a fair, accessible and sustainable place for consumer to avail services.

2)This act established the national norms and standards to ensure consumer protection act.

3) Promote a consistent legislative and enforced framework, related to consumer transactions and agreements by the states.
