The four main ecological crises are overpopulation, climate change, deforestation, and acid rain.

Explanation:

An ecological crisis occurs when there's a disturbance to the natural functioning of the environment and its species. These changes to the environment destabilize the species' continued survival.

The four ecological crises mainly are as follows :

  • Overpopulation- This crisis is mainly solved by predators in the forest but when there's an absence of predators the population of the prey increases due to an abundance of resources. This results in a shortage of food in the future times. Thus there's an increase in the population of the species followed by a decline in the population.
  • Climate change-This crisis has affected both the land and water ecosystems and is on the verge to affect other ecosystems too. An increase in global warming, extreme cold conditions, and drought affect the species hugely.
  • Deforestation- Deforestation is not a new concept for humans but lately its been affecting bio-diversity. Shortage of forests and land for the species results in the extinction of species.
  • Acid rain- Due to adverse air population the rainwater contains harmful toxins which result in the rain in form of toxins. This problem is mainly known to affect marine ecosystems at a huge level.
