The following are the methods of waste management:

1. Recycling - It is the process of extracting resources from wastes. It may also be called as recover or reuse of the materials.

2. Composting - It is the biological degradation or brake down of matter under aerobic conditions. Biodegradable wastes like left over food, vegetable peels can be placed in long pits where these are degraded biologically.

3. Incineration - It is the process of burning biological waste at very high temperature to form ash.

4. Landfills - It is a traditional method of dumping garbage into low lying area away from residential areas.

5. Sewage Treatment - In this sewage waste is treated at sewage treatment plants to remove the solid wastes and kill microbes from it for further use.

1) Composting and Vermicomposting:- This method is useful for disposal of biodegradable waste. 2) Landfilling:- A low lying open area out of the city where garbage is collected and dumped is known as a landfill. 3) Incineration:- This method is mainly used to dispose of the medical waste.
