It has always been noticed that formation of river valley projects often result in loss of trees and nearby forests.

It is a well known fact that the area or rather the forest must be chopped off to set up river valley projects. This happened with the Narmada valley project.

The project was to be completed in areas of Madhya Pradesh and resulted in cutting of 40000 hectares of Forest land.
