Examples are Sciaphila (Triuridaceae), Burmannia and Gymnosiphon (Burmanniaceae), Thismia (Thismiaceae), Voyria (Gentianaceae) and Monotropa (Ericaceae), which all occur both in the New and the Old World [5].
