The indicator which is recognized by smell is called olfactory indicator. That's why this is usually used by visually impared students. Onion dip cloth or clove oil.


Olfactory indicators are those which detect acids and bases by the change in odour, unlike the other common indiactors...
Examples are Onion and Vanilla
