Plastids are present in plant cells which synthesize and store important chemical compounds used by the cell. There are many types of plastids as the chloroplast, chromoplast, and leucoplasts. The chloroplast is a type of plastid which produces green coloured pigment. The chloroplast is involved in carrying out photosynthesis. It gives a green colour to leaves.
