Dear Student,

● Purusharthas -

  • Purush(human-being) + Arth(purpose) = Purusharth (Purpose of human life).
  • The term 'purusharth' is used for goals of human life in Hindu religion.
  • There are 4 purusharthas -
  1. Dharma (Moral values)
  2. Artha (Economical values)
  3. Kama (Psychological values)
  4. Moksha (Spiritual values)

* Dont confuse this with 4 stages of life in Hinduism -

  1. Brahmacharya (student)
  2. Grihastha (householder)
  3. Vanaprastha (retired)
  4. Sannyasa (renunciate)

Thanks dear. Hope that helps you...
