Shahab-ud-din Muhammad Khurram, also known by his regnal name Shah Jahan was the fifth Mughal emperor, who reigned in India from 1628 to 1658.

Shah Jahan had 4 sons. They were Mohyuddin Muhammud Aurangzeb (Aurangzeb), Dara Shikoh, Shah Shuja, and Murad Baksh.

Dara Shikoh was the apparent heir to the throne of Delhi. Shah Shuja was the second son and Murad Baksh was the youngest son of Shah Jahan. Aurangzeb was the most of the four and he failed a lot in his efforts to take over different provinces but he turned out to be a good administrator and a clever general.
