thyroxine is the hormone secreted by thyroid gland . its function is to regulate carbobydrates protiens and fat metabolism in the body. iodised salt is adviced bcoz thyroxine works only in the presence of iodine. the disease caused by the deficiency of iodine is goitre and its major symptom is swollen neck.
