• Atlas Cycle Industries Ltd was started by Shri Das Kapur in Sonepat, Haryana.

• It aimed at production of good quality cycles at an affordable rate.

• It had become India's largest cycle manufacturer by the year 1965 and also started exporting cycles.

• It received the award for 'Best Industrial Relations' by FICCI.

• Recently, it shut down its manufacturing unit at Sahibabad citing lack of funds as a reason behind it.
