• Below the Session layer is the Transport layer which is used for maintaining the transfer between the devices.

• It uses TCP and UDP as protocol.

Datalink layer:

• Below this comes the network layer used in the actual transmission of data through router and switches.

• It uses IP as a protocol.

Physical layer:

• Below this is the data link layer and then the Physical layer which takes care of information at the lowest level.

• It uses the Ethernet protocol.
