Peninsular plateau is an old crystal block lifted in the precambrian. it has been compared to a horst lifted above sea level. it has been a part of the supercontinent Gondwana land many structural changes occurred in the evolution of the plateau.

the Himalayas Mountain a young fold mountain system this reason was occupied by tethys geogycline as late as mesozoic times. the sediments deposited in the tethys sea work folded to form the Himalayas during the territory period the Himalayas and its mountain ranges were gradually on lifted spreading over millions of years.
