Name of white salt which give punjet smell heating with caustic soda

caustic soda is sodium hydroxide(NaOH)

The white crystalline solid is ammonium chloride formed by mixing gases ammonia and hydrochloric acid. When ammonium chloride is heated with sodium hydroxide solution ammonia gas is evolved.

NH4Cl+NaOH→NH3+NaCl+H2O
