Types of Cash Book accounting:

1) Simple cash Book : Receipts are recorded on debit side and payments are credited using a T shaped ledger a/c proforma.

2) Two Column Cash Book: Receipts are recorded on debit side and payments are credited using a T shaped ledger a/c proforma with two columns on both sides , one with cash Account and another with bank account columns.

3) Three Column Cash Book:  Receipts are recorded on debit side and payments are credited using a T shaped ledger a/c proforma with two columns on both sides one with bank and with two different bank account columns.

4) Petty Cash Book : petty Cash book is maintained by a petty cashier. It is also called as imprest system of cash accounting. All petty expenses are charged off against some advance/ imprest amount and the balance is reposted to main cash book.
