Winds are the result of changes that take place in our atmosphere due to heating of air and formation of water vapour. Other conditions include rotation of Earth and the presence of mountain ranges in the path of wind.
Wind occurs due to following reasons:
1)When solar radiation fall on Earth, majority of these radiations are reflected back by land and water bodies and some are absorbed. These reflected solar radiations heat the atmosphere from below. Due to this, convection current are set up in air. Since, land gets heated up faster than water, the air over the land would be also heated faster than the air above water bodies.
