In Aluminium, Beryllium, Chromium etc.... corrosion results in a thin oxide layer formation. This renders it a inert layer on surface which prevents further corrosion. Thus, in those elements corrosion is proved to be useful.

In case of aluminium, the layer formed is Al₂O₃(Aluminium oxide) layer.

HEY MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

ZINC IS ONE SUCH ELEMENT. THIS IS BECAUSE THEIR OXIDES FORM A LAYER OVER METALS SURFACE AND ARE NOT FLAKY OR POWDERY SO DON'T GET REMOVED EASILY AND PROTECT THE INNER METAL.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU DEAR FRIEND
