Sublimation is the process shown by ammonium chloride but this process can't be done by sodium chloride as it doesn't sublime.

Ammonium chloride is a sublimable (and solidification) substance whereas sodium chloride is not.

Sublimation means that ammonium chloride directly turns from solid to gas and turns from gas to solid without undergoing the liquid stage.

This is because the molecule of ammonium chloride gains enough energy to become free from the solid state and turn into gas.

While sodium chloride goes through all the states, namely solid, liquid and gas
