ONE VARIATION IN HUMANS CONNECTED WITH EARS
Although the structure of the ear and its parts are the same for all the humans, there are slight variations possible. Some humans have attached earlobes while some have few earlobes which is due to variation in genes.
The earlobe is a connective tissue containing areolar tissues and fat cells. The main variables that could be observed is the position of attachment of earlobe. It can be either free or attached.
Free earlobes are the most commonly observed form of lobes indicating that it is the dominant trait found. The earlobe is larger in size. As the name denotes, it hangs freely below the point of attachment to the head. The attached earlobes are comparatively smaller in size and is directly fixed to the side of the head.
This variation is given as a sample for one gene - two alleles Mendelian trait in human ears. Further, differences in size and protrusion are also visible due to the genetic variations.
