01 Define Respiration. What are the types of respiration? (1.5)
Respiration is the process exchanging of gas with the help of lungs. inhalation inhalation of Oxygen and acceleration of carbon dioxide took place in this process. there are two type of respiration process and those are aerobic and anaerobic respiration.
02 What are the difference between autotropic and hertrotrophic nutrition.
autotrophic nutrition is the nutrition in which organism make their food by their own (with the help of sunlight) and this process is usually seen in plants. organism following this process is called autotrophs. heterotrophic nutrition is usually seen in animals and human beings. in this process the organism is dependent on plants for their food and the organism following this process is known as heterotrophs.
03 What process would you consider essential for maintaining life? (1)
- Respiration
- Excretion
- Nutrition
- Reproduction
04 What are redox reactions? Give one example (1.5)
This is the type of reaction in which reduction and oxidation take place simultaneously.
Example: CuO + H2 --> Cu + H2O
here CuO is reduced to Cu and H2 is oxidized to H2O.
05 Define Corrosion with one example. Also Write it's prevention. (1.5)
This is process in which a metal is attacked by moisture or gas present in the atmosphere and result to the corrosion of the metal.
example when copper is leaved in moisture containing atmosphere, after some period of time we can see the green coating on it.
it can be prevented by colouring the metal, or grazing, etc.
06 Find the equivalent resistance of three resistors connected in parallel.
A parallel circuit is a circuit in which the resistors are arranged with their heads connected together, and their tails connected together. The current in a parallel circuit breaks up, with some flowing along each parallel branch and re-combining when the branches meet again. The voltage across each resistor in parallel is the same.
The total resistance of a set of resistors in parallel is found by adding up the reciprocals of the resistance values, and then taking the reciprocal of the total:
equivalent resistance of resistors in parallel: 1 / R = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2 + 1 / R3 +...
07 Derive all the expressions of Electric power. (1.5)
--> Refer to the textbook derivations, you will get it there..
