• Pallava-style temples include the Kailasanatha temple at Kanchipuram, the Shore Temple erected by Narasimhavarman II, and Mahendravarman's rock-cut temple in Mahendravadi. Another is the Nalanda Gedige temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

• Beginning with rock-cut temples constructed between 695 and 722 AD, as well as archaeological investigations dating back to the 6th century and earlier.

• Pallava sculptors progressed to free-standing structural shrines, which influenced later Chola dynasty temples. The Kailasanathar Temple at Kanchipuram, the Shore Temple, and the Pancha Rathas of Mahabalipuram are some of the best specimens of Pallava art and architecture.
