There are basically three isotopes of hydrogen, let them study separately

  1. Protium - The composition of protium in earth is approx 99.9% . Its atomic no and mass no is same i.e. 1.
  2. Deuterium - The composition of deuterium is approx 0.015 % . Its atomic number is also 1 but its mass no is 2 as it contains 1 neutron in it .
  3. Tritium - The composition of tritium is almost negligible i.e. 10^-15 % . Its atomic no is also 1 but its mass no is 3 as it contains 2 neutrons in it . It is the isotope of hydrogen which is radioactive in nature .
