Like trypsin, chymotrypsin digests proteins into peptides. Cells in the stomach lining release pepsinogen into the stomach cavity. Pepsinogen is activated by hydrochloric acid, becoming an enzyme called pepsin.
The pancreatic juice contains enzymes that complete the digestion of starch called pancreatic amylase. It also contains pancreatic enzymes that complete the digestion of protein called trypsin, chymotrypsin and carboxypeptidase.
