Beverage crops are those crops which provides potable drink to us may be alcoholic or non-alcoholic other than water. For example :- tea or coffee.

TEA

Tea is one of the most famous beverage crop produced in India.

The geographical factors which affect it are :-

  • It requires cool climate to grow.
  • it also requires high rainfall.
  • This rainfall should not be seasonal it must be throughout the year.
  • It needs well-drained loamy soil.
  • It usually grows in gentle slopes.

COFFEE

Coffee is one of the most famous beverage crop in India.

The geographical factors which affect it are ;-

  • It requires warm climate.
  • It also needs well-drained loamy soil.
  • it is usually said that it requires slopes to grow suitably.
  • It requires wet climate to grow.
