The very first biography of Buddha, if it can be called so, is the “Buddha vamsa” written in pali language, and is a part of the Tripitaka, through the Khuddak Nikaaya. Since the work is dedicated to all of the 25 Buddhas, it gives only a small glimpse on the life of Gautam Buddha, and although this is almost the double of the other previous Buddhas, taken individually, it is not exhaustive.
