The chromosomes, which is found in the nucleus of the cell is known to contain the information for inheritance from the parents to the offspring in the form of the DNA molecule. The DNA stores the information that is required to make proteins. Thus DNA stores the blueprint that is required for all basic body design.

The DNA is a double-stranded molecule each strand are connected to each other by sugar molecules. It contains four nitrogenous bases namely adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine. The sequence on one strand is matched to its complementary sequence on its opposite strand.
