The change in the inflation of a balloon is a physical change.
When we fill air into a balloon, it expands. However, when we deflate the balloon, the air comes out, and the balloon still remains a balloon. It does not become something else.
Physical changes may change the size and shape of an object, but they do not alter the composition of the original material. In physical changes, no new substance is formed, but in chemical changes new substances are formed. For example, the burning of paper is a chemical change. When paper is burnt, it turns to ash. You cannot ‘unburn’ it and make it paper again.
