The  chemical formula of Ferrous Sulphate is FeSO₄.7H₂O

It is prepared by dissolving iron in excess of dilute sulphuric acid. Procedure: It is obtained by dissolving 1.0 g of iron in excess of dilute sulphuric acid. It is known as blue vitriol or gas vitriol.
