Hiuen Tsang and Fa-hien

Hiuen Tsang was a Chinese  traveller who visited India during the reign of Harshavardhana. He was the guest of honour at the sixth religious assembly in 643 AD. We know about his travel from his writings in the Great Tang Records on the Western Regions.

Fa-hien was a Chinese pilgrim who visited India during the reign of Chandra Gupta II. His wanted to visit the religious places of Buddhism and to take copies of Buddhist religious texts. His account gives us a picture of the social and religious conditions of that period.
