Ciliary muscle is the component of eye which responsible for power of accomodation . When we look at a distant object ciliary muscles contract as a result eyelens become thinner and focal length increases. When we look at a nearer object ciliary muscles relax and eyelens become thicker and thr focal length decreases as a result.

Therefore ciliary muscles helps the eyelens to change it focal lenght and become a component of eye which responsible for power of accomodation.
