Answer:

Xylem consists of tracheids, vessels, xylem parenchyma and xylem fibers

Phloem consists of sieve tubes, compainion cells, phloem parenchyma and phloem fibres

difference:

Xylem carries water and minerals from the roots to the leaves. Whereas, phloem carries the food prepared by the leaves to different parts of the plant

Xylem is the complex, dead and permanent tissue responsible for carrying nutrients and water, whereas phloem is the soft and permanent tissue play its role in transporting the food and other organic material produced by the green parts especially leaves by the process of photosynthesis.

XYLEM : 1) This tissue contains xylem vessels, tracheids.

2) It helps in the transportation of water from the soil to the roots and to the

leaves of the plant.

3) Its movement of water is only in

upward direction.

4) the cells of this tissue are dead and works on the principle transpiration.

PHLOEM : 1)it contains phloem vessels and

companion cells.

2) It transports food and water to all

parts of the plant.

3) its transportation is in all

direstions.

4) the cells of the this tissue are alive and and consume some energy.
