Peripheral Nervous System :-
This is composed of peripheral nerves which come out of spinal cord. There are two types of nerves in peripheral nervous system, viz. sensory nerves and motor nerves.
1) Sensory Nerves :- These nerves carry stimuli from organs and tissues to the central nervous system.
2) Motor Nerves :- These nerves carry regulatory stimuli from central nervous system to organs and tissues.
On the basis of function, the peripheral nervous system is divided into two parts, viz. somatic nervous system and autonomic nervous system.
