• In the year of 1824 the sepoys were ordered to go through sea route to fight for the British East India Company.
• But initially they were "refused to follow the order as they believe", if crossed the sea they would lose their "religion and caste",  and they decided and agreed to go by land route after being punished.
• After 1856 the Company has declared a unique law which stated that "every new person who took up employment in the Company’s army had to agree to serve overseas if required"
