The reason behind banning processed and frozen fruit and vegetable was the    Nipah virus outbreak.

The wave of Nipah virus was localized in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts of Kerala and caused 17 lives, including that of Mohammed Sadiq, the first considered case.

United Arab Emirates also banned imports from Kerala and told his citizens to avoid unnecessary visit to Kerala.
