》hot and humid climate with a temperature between 21 to 27 degrees centigrade.

very high or very low temperature is harmful

》Rainfall range is between 75cm to 50cm.

Too heavy rainfall is harmful.It results in low sugar content.

》Best soil to grow this crop is alluvial soil.It also grows in black soil .

Use of manures ensures high yield.
