Tropical Cyclone Hudhud originated from a low pressure system that was formed under the influence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation in the Andaman Sea on October 6 which later intensified into a cyclonic storm on October 8 and then as a Severe Cyclonic Storm by the IMD the very next day. It was identified as a category 3 storm.

Visakhapatnam, districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vijayanagaramwas saw widespread damages including the airport, buildings, electrical, infrastructure, communication ,roads and livelihoods
