Answer: a) Photolytic decomposition

b)  2AgBr(s)\overset{sunlight}\rightarrow 2Ag(s)+Br_2(g)

Explanation: Decomposition reaction : It is a type of reaction in which a larger molecule decomposes into two or more smaller molecule. It always require energy for breaking of bonds and hence is always endothermic.

As we know that the silver bromide is a soft, pale-yellow and water-insoluble salt. It is sensitive towards the sunlight.

When silver bromide is exposed to sunlight, it decomposes to silver metal which is grey in color and bromine gas are formed.

The balanced decomposition reaction will be,

2AgBr(s)\overset{sunlight}\rightarrow 2Ag(s)+Br_2(g)
