Answer:

There are typically 4 primary components to the taskbar which are explained below.

Explanation:

  1. The Start Button - opens the menu.
  2. The Quick Launch bar - includes shortcuts to frequently used programmes. Use this to prevent your desktop from being cluttered with application shortcuts. You can get rid of it if you don't utilise it.
  3. The main Taskbar - shows icons for all open files and apps.
  4. The System Tray - includes the clock and icons for some of the background apps.
  • The Taskbar can be used to manipulate the Start menu even though it isn't officially a part of it. A menu will appear when you perform a right click on an empty space in the main Taskbar section. When you select Properties, a tab for the Start Menu will appear.
  • By clicking and dragging the divider line following the little icons, you can resize the Quick Launch area. There are more icons on the menu if there is a double >> sign. Delete the icons for programmes you don't use to improve the Quick Launch bar's functionality. Icons can also be moved around by clicking and dragging them to different places.
  • A button for each page of each open application can be found on the main Taskbar. An option to restore, maximise, or shut that window will appear if you Right Click on one of the buttons.
  • The most crucial action you can take with the System Tray is to decide whether all of the programmes represented by the icons actually need to be launched and running continuously. Each icon stands for a little software that uses RAM to stay active.

Thus, even though an application is minimised, it can still be accessed from the taskbar because it is visible on the desktop.
