1. Hematite

2. Magnetite

3. Limonite

4. Siderite.

In detail :- Different Types of Iron Ore. The iron minerals that are at present used as ores are hematite, magnetite, limonite, and siderite; also, occasionally ankerite, goethite, and turgite. Hematite is the most important iron ore. Ankerite is a carbonate of lime, magnesia, manganese, and iron.

One use of iron :- Use of hematite :- Hematite has a wide variety of other uses, but their economic significance is very small compared to the importance of iron ore. The mineral is used to produce pigments, preparations for heavy media separation, radiation shielding, ballast, and many other products.

Use of Magnetite :- Use of Magnetite as a Heavy Media

Use of Magnetite as a Heavy MediaPowdered magnetite is often mixed with a liquid to produce a thick, high-density slurry that is used for specific gravity separations. Much of the high-sulfur coal that is mined in the eastern United States is floated across a slurry of magnetite.

Use of limonite :- Limonite in a ore of iron and is used as a pigment in the manufacture of paints.

Use of sidrite :- Siderite is used as an iron ore in few places. It may also be used as a brown pigment.
