The divisions of history are Ancient, Medieval and Modern times.
- Divisions were made in order to look at the changes and easy bifurcations for historians and researchers to understand different periods specifically.
- Earlier in Indian society, history was divided upon the occurrence of religion but in a general perspective history was divided into three portions namely Ancient, Medieval and Modern. All these bifurcations were made by taking into consideration the acts and activities of people belonging to that time period like hunting, empire building, imperial states, the establishment of cities and towns, employment, jobs, house structures, language spoken and many more.
- The Ancient division was of the Vedic Age wherein the early rulers like Guptas and the Mauryans established their Kingdom in Indian society.
- The Medieval Period is the one concerning India wherein the rule of the Delhi Sultanate was powerful and to that of the Europeans.
- Lastly the Modern Age or Period concerns the end of the medieval period to that of today's present time. It is the current ongoing period which has seen numerous developments from the time of the first period.
