ATP- Adenosine TriPhosphate is the energy currency of the cell. It stores the energy in its bonds which is utilised by the cells by breaking the bonds whenever required. It is formed in the mitochondria of the cell which is why mitochondria is also called the 'powerhouse of the cell' .
