Metro rails in India don't use an 'engine' in the traditional sense of the understanding. Metro rails sets are actually train-sets, like electric multiple units (EMUs). The power is produced in several/all of the compartments, there is no designated engine.

For the specifications, different metro rail systems in India use different systems for traction, a comparison is available here: Rapid transit in India. A comparison of major systems is here:

Kolkata Metro: 750V DC Third rail, Broad Gauge railway, 8 coaches per train

Delhi Metro: 25000V AC Overhead catenary, Broad Gauge and Standard Gauge, 4–6–8 coaches per train

Namma Metro: 750V DC Third rail, Standard Gauge, 3 coaches per train

Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon: 750V DC Third rail, Standard Gauge, 3 coaches per train

Mumbai Metro: 25000V AC Overhead catenary, Standard Gauge, 4–6 coaches per train

Jaipur Metro: 25000V AC Overhead catenary, Standard Gauge, 4 coaches per train

Chennai Metro: 25000V AC Overhead catenary, Standard Gauge, 4 coaches per train
