The enzyme present in human saliva is salivary Amylase.

Explanation:

Salivary Amylase and lysozyme are present in the saliva. It digests some small chain starch and converts them into disaccharides like sucrose, maltose or lactose.

The action of salivary Amylase is something different than digestion. It actually protects the buccal cavity from getting infected by colony-forming bacteria.

It is the way of protecting the buccal cavity infections.

Without this, food can’t be converted into chyme.
