Pancreas is a mixed gland because it perform function of both exocrine ND endocrine glands . It's lies below the stomach ND above the transverse colon .As exocrine gland ,it produces pancreatic juice ,which is poured into the duodenum through the common bile duct. But pancreas produces insulin as an endocrine gland.The deficiency of insulin causes the increase of sugar level in blood ND results in the appearance of sugar in the urine.This makes a person weak ND tired quickly. This disorder in the body due to the deficiency of insulin is called diabetes mellitus
