For example:
Plant Cells - The shape is caused by the cell wall which is rigid and therefore forces to have a definite shape. In plants there are different shapes of cells eg: Guard cells, which are in bean shape, because their function is to regulate rate of transpiration by opening and closing the stomata.
Animal Cells - The muscle cells are spindle shaped, for easy flexibility and elongation. The red blood cells are biconcave disks, which provides a large surface to volume ration and small in size for easy transportation of oxygen from lungs to the body tissues.
